At least this movie had some good performances and a relevant storyline, but other than that it’s the same cookie cutter anti-war movie that we have seen over and over since the beginning of the Iraqi War. I’m sure there are some positive stories that come from war that could make decent movies but we sure never see them. I mean I understand that war is mostly negative but do we have to be reminded of it in every movie they make about it. That being said I do think this one was done pretty well. Ryan Phillippe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum put in solid performances, even though I found it a little hard to believe Phillippe as a Texan. Lots of war scenes, drinking and fighting. So if that’s your thing then don’t miss this one.
